Bruce County Rugby Club Tributes

Jack "Dirt" Drury

The Bruce County Rugby Football Club is a family. When one of us hurts, we ALL hurt.   Jack was affectionately known as "Dirt".  He was a tender hearted individual and loved making people laugh.  His "devilish" grin could elicit a smile from the most serious of people.  You could ask Jack for anything.  There wasn't a thing he wouldn't do for anyone.  Unfortunately, he hid his own problems from everyone.

He was never one to burden anyone with his own problems, until it was too late.

It's hard to say goodbye, especially when you shouldn't have to.  Although hindsight may be 20:20, we have to be friends 100 percent of the time.  Rest in Peace Jack

Please know the signs before it's too late.

Jack Drury - #33

DRURY, Peter Jack -  It is with great sadness, and heavy hearts, we must announce the passing of Peter Jack Drury, the only child of Peter and Kim Drury of Port Elgin on August 23, 2017 at the age of 18. He is survived by a family that loved and cherished him with all of their hearts. They include his grandparents, Wayne and Evelyn Stevens, Ernest and his late wife Grace Drury, his uncles and aunts, Keri Walker, Kathy and Michael Guinan, Andrew and Karen Drury, his cousins, Chloe and Alec Walker, Ben and Kelly Guinan, and Ellen Drury. He lived a short but impactful life, like a supernova, on all who met him. Jack, as he was known, loved music, playing football, rugby and skiing. He also loved the company of family and friends. Jack recently started coaching football as a way of giving back to the community he loved. He loved working for the town of Saugeen Shores with all of his co-workers. He cherished his friendships with all his heart. The outpouring of love and kindness from friends and family has been overwhelming. Jack's passing has brought a community together at the worst of times. Jack will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at the Queens Bar & Grill, Port Elgin on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2 - 5 p.m. Memorial donations to the Saugeen Royals Football Program, the Bruce Grey Rugby Football Club or WES for Youth Online would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at  www.greybrucecremation.com

We love you Jack... Forever.
