About Us
Bruce County RFC was proudly founded in early 2008 by Stephen Colley, Steven Bell, Keith Colley and Martin O'Connor. Our goal was to take a local team and regionalize it making Rugby accessible to the whole of Bruce County. Our subsequent membership is a direct reflection of that goal, with players coming from Owen sound, Goderich, Walkerton, Port Elgin, Paisley and Kincardine to name a few. We wanted to promote the sportsmanship/solidarity of the sport both on and off the field and at the same time try to break down or completely eradicate small town rivalry that can quite often exist in other team sports.
Along with the Wave Flag Rugby programme, the club has gone from strength to strength. In 2009 the Senior Men captured their first ever title by winning the NRU B Championship.
In 2010 the club has expanded to include a Senior Womens, and Under 18s boys teams to name just a few. Behind the scenes the club has an executive in place that works extremely hard in making the club a success and build the foundation for future members. The club is heavily involved in supporting local organisations including MS, Autism and Pumpkinfest to name just a few.
The future is bright for Rugby along the shores of Lake Huron!
